Importance of Donation in this Yuga
In this Yuga, the present age described in Hindu philosophy as a time of moral decline and materialism, donation (Dāna) holds special importance. Scriptures teach that while intense penance and meditation were suitable in earlier ages, charity and selfless giving are the most effective spiritual practices in Kali Yuga. Donating food, money, knowledge, or service purifies wealth, reduces ego and greed, supports those in need, and brings inner peace. Even small acts of generosity done with pure intention are believed to create great spiritual merit in this Yuga.
